Where does my love of travel come from?

I grew up in a family and church community that vacationed together often, creating lasting memories that sparked my love for travel. Some of those vacations include:

• The earliest pictures I have of myself on vacation are from Disney World in 1985—charter buses full of families stopping at Shoney’s for meals on our journey from Cleveland, OH to Orlando.

• Multiple times during my childhood, my family traveled from Cleveland, OH to NYC for Thanksgiving. To this day, I hate the idea of standing in the cold waiting for a good spot at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

• In 2003, I went on my first cruise with our church.

• In 2011, my family started consistently going on vacations.

In 2021, after months of COVID lockdowns, I felt the deep need to get away. That led to annual girlfriend getaways: California, Mexico, and Caribbean cruises—each one deepening my love for travel and adventure.

So, why become a travel agent?

In 2024, the idea of becoming a travel agent started as a quiet thought, then quickly turned into a passion.

Everyone who knows me knows how much I love travel and cruise ships. Friends often asked me to help with their vacation planning. I found myself diving deep into research, binge-watching travel advisors on YouTube. Any time someone asked if I had seen a new movie or show, my response became: “All I watch is travel agents!”

After a lot of thought—and many hours consulting Dr. Google—I found the perfect fit: joining a host agency. Life came full circle when I discovered that KHM Travel Group is based in Brunswick, Ohio, just 30 minutes from my hometown of Cleveland. Maybe it was meant to be.
